Every employer must consult their employees regarding workplace safety. Every workplace from the largest multinational company to the smallest factory must establish a Committee, representative or some arrangement set out in the Act. There are no exceptions.

Under the Act every employer or self-employed person must carry out a risk assessment. Thereafter an employer will have to Identify, Assess and Control the risks that occur in their workplace.
